James Hong’s career spans 7 decades acquiring over 700 SAG-AFTRA Union roles in feature films & television, probably the most of any actor. His credits include Big Trouble in Little China, Blade Runner, Chinatown, Wayne’s World 2, and Seinfield. Recent releases include Everything Everywhere All at Once, Wendell and Wild, Turning Red, Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, and Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight. He has also starred in Hawaii Five-O with Scott Caan, Elementary with Lucy Liu, Agents of Shield with Ming-Na Wen, Kung-Fu Panda 1, 2, 3 & 4, Balls of Fury, The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Lost Medallion and RIPD starring Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Bacon and Jeff Bridges.

On Thursday, February 22, 2024 James Hong, had his hands and feet immortalized in cement at the legendary TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX® on Hollywood Blvd.
He is one of the founders of the East-West Players, the oldest and largest Asian American theater in Los Angeles. He served as president and charter member of the Association of Asian Pacific American Artists and was a former member of the SAG Board of Directors under Charlton Heston as president.
